Alyssa Acuña has been dreaming of becoming a ChangeLawyer since the age of six. She recognized injustices in our society from an early age and enrolled at California Western School of Law to pursue her dream. During her time at in law school she dedicated over 800 hours to the San Diego Public Defender’s office working on adult misdemeanor cases and juvenile delinquency cases as a certified legal intern. During her time in law school, she also participated on the California Western trial team. Alyssa is a member of the Gabrielino-Tongva Tribe and member of the San Diego Native American Lawyers Association. She hopes to follow in the path of her ancestors and become a warrior, only now that battlefield is the courtroom- where she wants to fight for the rights of those who have been stripped of their dignity and marginalized by society.
